Returns Policy
The Returns Policy applies to goods purchased online, over the telephone, by fax or by email.
No goods may be returned without first notifying us in advance, clearly stating your reason for wanting to return the item(s). Once we have established and authorised your wish to return an item(s), we will issue you with an RAN (Returns Authorisation Number) which must be clearly marked on the outer shipping carton.
All goods and services offered are sold in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. These regulations are to protect you, the customer, and to ensure that you are given clear information about the goods and services that we are offering. Once you have placed an order for goods or services, we will forward a confirmation email to the email address provided by you. You are entitled to a cooling off period of seven days in which you are entitled to cancel your order. Should you wish to cancel your order you must write to the sales office by email or post with your request.
Sound Exposure cannot accept cancellations for certain goods such as music CDs and software which are protected by copyright and that have been unsealed from their original packaging. Goods such as custom assembled cables and electronic modifications ordered specifically to meet a consumers requirements are exempt from these regulations.
The consumer will be responsible for the cost of returning any cancelled goods to Sound Exposure. All returned goods must be packaged in such a way that the item(s) arrive at our goods inwards department in the condition in which they were dispatched (as new). Consequently if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product, accessories or packaging in any way whatsoever. Any items and/or accessories which are in sealed packets or bags must be returned to us unopened.
It is your sole responsibility to take due care of the item(s) whilst they are in your possession and during the cancellation period, ensuring they are maintained in the condition in which they were supplied to you. If the item(s) are damaged or your use of the goods has gone beyond reasonable inspection and overview, we reserve the right to refuse a full refund. The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 is not an endorsement of a try before you buy service but simply a mechanism to give you the opportunity to change your mind regarding a purchase, returning it strictly unused.
Customers are advised to use the services of a reputable courier and to ensure that adequate transit insurance is purchased to cover the full retail cost of the item(s) in the event of loss or damage. Failure to uphold these conditions of return may invalidate your claim to a full refund or replacement.
All goods are packaged by us during dispatch, in an outer carton with use of cavity fill or similar cushioning material, in such a way as to protect the actual manufacturers item box or packaging. Any goods being returned to us must be repackaged by the customer in a similar outer carton to ensure that the integrity of the actual item box or packaging reaches us in an 'as new' condition.
Goods returned must reach us in a re-saleable condition and in their original packaging. This includes, but is not limited to, careless writing of addresses or sticking of labels and tape on the actual manufacturers product carton. Failure to do this may invalidate your claim to a full refund and may result in us charging you a repacking or restocking fee of up to 25% of the original purchase price.
Goods must be returned in a reasonable time frame and refunds will only be issued once the goods have been received and inspected and are deemed to be in the condition as laid out in the previous terms and conditions.
