Placing an Order

Once you have located the items you wish to purchase, ordering could not be more straightforward. You may order online, by telephone, by email, by fax or by post. The quickest way is to order directly online by simply indicating the quantity of the particular item you require in the box provided, and click the buy now button. This will add the item to your virtual shopping basket. You can see at a glance the contents of your basket with the simple basket summary on the top left of each page.

Once you have selected all you need, checking out is a straightforward process and will take just a few minutes of your time. On clicking the checkout button you will be directed to a secure area of this site, where you can view the entire contents of your shopping basket. You can still amend the contents if there is anything you are not happy with, before checking out.

Payment Options

For all non account customers, you may pay by credit or debit card, electronic bank transfer or cheque. If you are paying by cheque, goods will not be dispatched until the funds have cleared. If you wish to pay by electronic bank transfer, please contact sales for our bank details. We accept the following payment cards; Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Mastercard Debit, UK Maestro, Solo, Electron and Visa Delta. International customers may pay by Amex or electronic bank transfer.

Business customers who have a credit account with us can check out in the normal way but need to select the invoice with order option in the payments section. If you wish to enquire about opening a credit account, please telephone our accounts department. Please note that credit accounts are only available to business customers. If you are paying by credit or debit card, the registered address of the cardholder will be used as the main invoice/billing address on the invoice and goods will be shipped to that address. If you wish for your goods to be shipped to an address other than that of the registered card holder, then you will need to check the appropriate box on the first stage of the checkout process, then provide the delivery information when prompted.

In cooperation with our merchant bank and payment service provider we have implimented 3D Secure (Three Domain Secure) which is the payment industry's internet authentication standard often referred to as Mastercard Securecode, or Verified by VISA. This process has been developed by the major card schemes to protect you the cardholder, and us the merchant from fraudulent or unauthorised use of your card. 3D Secure can be thought of as an online version of 'Chip and Pin' technology, whereby the cardholder has a personalised password registered with their card that is entered during the checkout process. Registration is a voluntary 'once only' process that takes only a few minutes and most of the major issuing banks have adopted this security measure. If you decide not to register then we will only ship your goods to the registered address of the cardholder, and you will need to phone your order through to the sales office as a telephone order.

Safe Shopping

All information gathered about you during checkout is transmitted and stored using 128 bit encryption implemented by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology which is an industry-wide protocol devised for the safe transmission of data. Your payment card data is passed directly to our merchant bank payment gateway via SSL encryption, during the checkout process, and is not stored in any form by ourselves. Our merchant bank payment service provider is CreditCall, who are certified to the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) so you know the transaction data we process is in the safest possible hands. Our SSL Certificate has been issued and authenticated by GeoTrust who are a wholly owned subsidiary of VeriSign Inc, the worlds largest and most respected issuer of security certificates.

General information that we gather, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers are retained to enable us to process your order and dispatch your goods and also contact you if we need to with regard to customer services issues. All data is stored in compliance with the 1998 Data Protection Act and Sound Exposure is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Corporate Bodies and Local Authority

We welcome orders from all areas of the public sector, including education, local councils and authorities, emergency services, health authorities, the armed forces and government agencies. We will automatically grant a 30 day credit account on receipt of an official purchase order from any of the qualifying bodies.

All purchase orders must clearly display an official purchase order number along with the full contact details of the person placing the order. If the delivery address is different to the purchasers contact details then this must also be clearly stated and include a telephone number for the delivery addressee.
