The Product

The dbx 376 is a single channel, professional vacuum tube microphone pre-amplifier in a convenient 1U rack mounting package. The unit comprises of a three band parametric equaliser, the classic dbx 902 de-esser and adjustable compression. This comprehensive unit also boasts a front panel instrument input and a full compliment of digital outputs on the rear, with selectable sampling rates and full word clock synchronisation. An insertion point for additional effects or processing and comprehensive LED metering complete the picture in this latest addition to the silver series family.

The Manufacturer

dbx was founded in 1971 by David Blackmer who started his career working in professional recording studios. He developed a new process called linear decibel companding, a process considered at the time to be many times more effective than Dolby in reducing tape noise. Although the company went on to develop a range of signal processing equipment for use in recording studios, it was always best known for its noise reduction designs. After several mergers and acquisitions dbx is now owned by Harman International and continues to develop and manufacture a wide range of signal processing equipment which represent a solid build quality, a musical sound quality and excellent value for money.
