The Product

The Tascam US-144MkII is a portable 4 channel (2x analogue 2x digital) USB audio and MIDI interface with support for recordings up to 96kHz/24bit resolution. Ideal for laptop musicians, DJs and mobile sound recordists. It includes two balanced XLR microphone inputs with globally assignable phantom power for use with condenser microphones, and stereo balanced line inputs presented on a pair of ¼" jacks with the right hand input optomised for use with a guitar. Unbalanced left and right line output is presented on a pair phono sockets. S/PDIF digital input and output phono sockets enable direct access to digital stereo content (selectable S/PDIF or AES/EBU format for digital output).

Connection to a Mac or PC is by USB 2.0 with the interface deriving its power over USB. Zero-latency monitoring is available for recording using the phono line outputs and headphone socket. Precise monitoring levels are achieved through a dedicated hardware control for monitor mix (between computer output and interface input) and independent level controls of the line out (phono left and right) and headphones output (¼" stereo jack). MIDI input and output sockets enable the connection of suitably equipped keyboards, synthesizers and controller interfaces to receive and transmit MIDI data.

A copy of Cubase LE is included enabling you to fully utilise the functions of the audio interface in a digital audio workstation (DAW) software environment.
