The Product

The Tascam TC-1S is a pocket solar-powered instrument tuner, probably the very first solar-powered type to be made available on the market. It is of a compact and uncluttered design with a removable orange coloured silicon protective bumper for added protection. A short strap with integral carabiner makes it simple to attach to a guitar case handle, belt hoop or keyring. The internal battery can be charged by the integral bank of solar cells, even under room lights, or can also be charged from a USB port for rapid charging when in the dark, giving the musician anything up to six hours continuous use, depending upon conditions. The TC-1S also has an automatic power-off feature which switches the device off after five minutes of inactivity, saving precious battery life.

The TC-1S has a built-in microphone as well as a standard ¼" jack input for guitar and bass tuning. Ultra-fast pitch detection is shown on a wide bargraph display for instant analysis and four display modes are available, including strobe tuning animation and a fine setting for 1-cent accuracy. The tuner can be calibrated to an external source such as a piano or other instrument which are demanding to tune.
