The Product
The Tascam CD-RW900SL is one of the most popular CD recorders on the market, featuring a robust slot-loading transport, 24 bit A/D & D/A converters, MP3 playback, key control, sample rate conversion, and selectable CD disc reading speed. It also provides dedicated analog front panel input control, rear panel analogue unbalanced inputs and outputs on phono connectors and S/DIFF digital inputs and outputs on both optical and coaxial connectors. Recently added features include Auto Cue and Auto Ready from the menu, selectable infra-red remote enable/disable, and MP3 Action Setting which prevents accidental termination of continuous MP3 playback.
Other features the user has come to expect from Tascam are pitch control on playback (0.1 to 1.0% in 0.1 steps), auto or manual track division, sync record start, power-on play, elapsed, remain, total and total remain time display, and CD-Text read and write. This 2U rackmounting CD recorder offers fantastic value for money as an entry level machine but incorporates features often found on more expencive models.
