The Product

The Shure Super 55 is an updated version of the 55SH-2 which has established itself quite simply 'the' classic stage vocal microphone. Like the 55HS-2 the Super 55 features a signature chrome-plated die-cast case with a new blue two-tone appearance, but still retaining that '50s and '60s classic look. It has an adjustable integral stand adaptor and a supercardioid polar pattern, with an updated modern electro-acoustic transducer designed to meet the demands of the 21st century.

The Manufacturer

From humble beginnings in 1925 as a radio parts wholesaler in downtown Chicago USA, Shure has grown to become one of the worlds most popular microphone brands bar none. Over and over again Shure microphones have stood the test of time with many of the models having been in production for over thirty years, which is a testament to the original designs. Most musicians, engineers and recording artists at some stage in their careers would have used Shure microphones and today the brand continues to lead the way with the Beta and KSM series.
