The Shure SM63 is an elegant yet rugged omnidirectional dynamic microphone designed for professional applications where performance and appearance are critical. It exhibits a smooth, wide frequency response which has been tailored for optimum speech intelligibility, and includes a controlled low frequency rolloff for reduced pickup of stand and wind noise. A built-in humbucking coil makes the microphones virtually immune to strong hum fields, such as those produced by studio lighting. It has a champagne finish and is designed for handheld use on stage and in broadcast, recording, and television studios. It also uses a patented Shure shock mount system to minimize handling noise and the design incorporates a Vera-Flex grille that protects against damage from a drop of up to 2 metres, and is impervious to dents, rust, corrosion, and moisture. An integral pop filter effectively reduces breath noise.

From humble beginnings in 1925 as a radio parts wholesaler in downtown Chicago USA, Shure has grown to become one of the worlds most popular microphone brands bar none. Over and over again Shure microphones have stood the test of time with many of the models having been in production for over thirty years, which is a testament to the original designs.
