The Product

The Shure RPM89/PRE is a compact preamplifier which is compatible with the RPM89S, RPM89M and RPM89L shotgun capsules. The body is manufactured from an aluminium alloy finished in a charcoal-grey metallic paint. A high-pass filter switch is located on the side for easy field access and provides low frequency roll-off at 200Hz or a flat response down to 100Hz when used with the RPM89M and RPM89L capsules, and 60Hz when used with the RPM89S capsule. Audio output is presented on a conventional 3-pole male XLR connector with positive pressure applied to the capsule producing a positive voltage on pin 2 with respect to pin 3.

Requires phantom power to function.
