The Product

The Sennheiser MKH416-TU is the industry standard location and broadcast microphone chosen by many recordists. It is a short gun interference tube design, often referred to as a short rifle microphone. It has excellent directivity, compact design, a high consonant articulation and superb feedback rejection. Other features such as very low inherent self-noise, high sensitivity, transformerless fully balanced floating output and matt black all metal body has helped to establish this microphone as a world leader.
