The Product

The SKB SKB19-6U is a vacuum formed flightcase designed for protecting and transporting up to 6U of standard rackmounting audio and video equipment. SKB made history when it was first introduced in 1992 as it was the very first molded rack which provided a real professional alternative to the heavier plywood racks. The SKB line of 19" stackable racks has received worldwide acclaim for durability, convenience and easy handling. They are manufactured from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene reinforced with aluminium extrusion, being less than half the weight of standard plywood racks but still providing maximum protection. Equipment can be mounted in the front as well as the rear and both transport covers are gasket sealed to protect from moisture and dirt. Carrying handles are located at either side of the case.

The Manufacturer

The very first SKB case was manufactured in a small garage in California by company founders Steve Kottman and Dave Sanderson. Today, SKB produces cases for hundreds of companies involved in many diverse industries.
