The Product

The Rode NT4 is a stereo X-Y microphone with a perfectly matched pair of stereo condenser capsules in a fixed 90° configuration. It solves the age old problem of stereo recording by eliminating the need to purchase matched pairs and the associated complex T bars and adaptors to get professional results. It has a 128dB dynamic range, 143dBA sound pressure level capability and low self-noise. It can be powered by battery or phantom power operation with integral power indicator light and comes supplied in a custom carry case with a windshield, XLR to 3.5mm Jack connector and dual XLR cables for compatibility with most domestic and professional recording equipment.

The Manufacturer

Rode Microphones evolved from the Freedman Group of Companies, established in 1967 by Henry and Astrid Freedman, after emigrating to Australia from Sweden. Freedman Electronics was a pioneer in the Australian audio industry for the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of a diverse range of audio products. Loudspeakers, amplifiers, custom electronics and microphones were all a part of the company's expertise, all of which took place within the confines of the small but unique Australian market. In 1990 Rode produced and marketed its first microphone and has not looked back. Rode microphones represent excellent sound quality and value for money with a diverse array of accessories to compliment the range.
