The Product

The Radial DUPLEX is a dual channel passive DI box designed to enhance connectivity for the touring professional and audio visual integrator. Both channels employ the same high performance Jensen audio transformer as the industry standard Radial JDI DI box and has the same pristine audio signal path with virtually zero phase, harmonic and linear distortion. Natural transformer saturation and warm Bessel curve makes the Radial DUPLEX the perfect choice for rounding out highly dynamic instruments, like digital keyboards, that can sound harsh when driven hard.

Transformer isolation also provides the benefit of eliminating troublesome ground loops that can cause hum and buzz and can interfere with video displays. The case is incredibly tough manufactured from 14 gauge steel, incorporating an I beam chassis format with a bookend style outer casing, resulting in a product capable of withstanding the worst possible rock and roll abuse.

Features include main signal inputs presented on both ¼" jack and phono connectors, with associated loop through outputs also presented on ¼" jack and phono connectors, a switchable low pass filter, and a 15dB pad for signal matching. A switchable merge function uses the through output as a second input which gets summed with the main input, providing a quick solution for feeding stereo devices to single mono mixer channels. Each channel is also equipped with a defeatable balanced +4dBu input on a 3 pole female XLR, to receive inputs from professional equipment. The main line outputs are presented on 3 pole male XLR connectors, along with phase reverse switches and a common ground lift switch, to quickly deal with earth loop hum problems.

The Manufacturer

The company began operations in 1991 as the Canadian distributor of Mogami cable and Jensen Audio Transformers. In 1992, it became a limited corporation under the JP Cabletek Electronics Limited banner. The Radial name was first used on house branded cables and multicore systems, but today over fifty electronic products are now being produced under the Radial, Tonebone and Forest Audio brands. Radial products are extremely rugged and can withstand the rigors and abuse associated with touring and live music.
