The Product

The Marantz PMD660 is a professional compact portable digital recorder which records onto standard Compact Flash cards. It is packed with useful features which include easy one-touch record, MP3 and WAV file formats, balanced mic inputs on XLR with switchable phantom power, line input and output and a headphone socket.

Its compact size and user friendly features makes this machine well suited to broadcast journalists, location recording and transcription. Useful features include a built-in microphone for self contained operation, read after write confidence monitoring and a USB port. An optional rugged carry case is available.

This unit requires a Compact Flash card to function which must be ordered separately.

The Manufacturer

Marantz was officially founded in 1953 by Saul Bernard Marantz, a native of New York born in 1911. Unhappy with equipment available at the time, Saul spent many hours in his basement constructing amplifiers which ultimately found favour with like minded audio professionals. From these humble beginnings, Marantz has become a highly respected manufacturer and innovator of Hi Fi and broadcast related products throughout the world.
