The Product

The Hawk-Woods DV-F980L is a rechargeable Lithium-Ion Mini DV battery which conforms to the Sony NP-F format and is 100% compatible with all products employing this fitting. It has a nominal voltage of 7.2V and a capacity of 52W delivering up to 7200mA. This battery will also fully support the INFO technology which Sony cameras employ to display battery usage to the operator.

The principal difference between the Hawk-Woods DV-F980L and the standard DV-F980 is that this battery is part of the DV-Link family of products. The DV Link Battery-System from Hawk-Woods allows Mini-DV camera operators to mount and power additional on-board equipment from a single camera battery. This is achieved via a series of Linking power adaptors and mounts which integrate with the unique Hawk-Woods DV-Link battery and each other. Operators of compatible Sony cameras can now power a lamp, hard disk and/or radio microphone receiver, all from the same battery that is powering the camera.

The DV-F980L can be charged by any compatible Sony F-Series charger. Hawk-Woods produce a range of quality chargers which can be found on the appropriate section of this website.
