The Product

The Focusrite TRACKMASTER PRO is a comprehensive mono channel strip, incorporating a high quality pre amplifier, a mid scoop equaliser, compressor and comprehensive monitoring section.

The pre amplifier features a class A discrete transistor design delivering low noise and distortion, with a balanced microphone input with switchable 48V phantom power, but also a direct line input. The mid scoop equaliser is a quick and effective problem solver, having two different depths of cut and an adjustable frequency control, making it ideal for vocal problem solving or for capturing a great live feel on guitar cabinets.

An optical compressor is provided in the chain which employs the Focusrite custom fast-acting opto devices, operating in Class A mode, delivering a smoother performance with lower distortion than more usual VCA derived circuits. With the addition of variable attack and the unique Squash mode (ideal for intense drum sounds), this compressor returns the compression sound you need in seconds.

The monitoring section with front panel headphone output, coupled with a clear backlit analogue siginal level meter combine to ensure the user can avoid having to monitor via their digital audio workstation which often exhibit latency problems.

The Manufacturer

The Focusrite brand was established in 1985 on principles of developing products that sounded musical in use, as well as meeting current measurable standards on the test bench. Although Focusrite do not produce a massive range of products, the items they do manufacturer are superb in sound quality, very tactile in use and exceptionally well engineered. In essence Focusrite products are built by musicians for musicians and loved by many.
