The Product

The Dynacord D12 is a light-weight, robust 2-way loudspeaker for professional sound reinforcement applications incorporating an 12" neodymium bass driver and a 1" high frequency driver, which is coupled to a constant-directivity horn. This has been integrated to the cabinet front profile contributing to a nominal coverage angle of 80° H by 40° V. The D12 is ideally suited to be used in a wide variety of demanding fixed installations, however the cabinet is manufactured from ABS and therefore is extremely resistant to the vigors of life on the road as well. Power handling of the cabinet is 300W (RMS) and 1200W (peak) and the maximum sound pressure level is 129dB, with a frequency range extending from 70Hz to 18kHz. Each transducer is protected against short-term thermal overload with thermal cut-out switches and halogen protectors. In the event of a thermal overload the power applied to the drivers is reduced to a safe level. The protection exhibits soft switching characteristics, so no annoying clicks or pops are audible and the circuitry automatically resets after the voice coil temperature has reached a safe level.

The drivers are protected by a strong powder-coated steel grille, bonded to extremely durable acoustic foam. The trapezoid shaped enclosure also allows use of the cabinet in monitoring applications as a stage wedge and the integrated carrying handle makes transportation simple. The integrated stand socket gives the user a simple way of stand or pole mounting for speedy setup.
