The Product
The Denon DN-D4500 is a professional twin compact disc and MP3 player suitable for a wide range of playback applications including pub and club installations, broadcast and mobile DJ work. The system is comprised of a 2U rackmount twin transport chassis and a 2U rackmount twin controller, linked together with a control cable.
It it built to the usual high standards expected from Denon and offers an extensive set of features which should easily cope with the most demanding, creative requirements of any DJ or producer. Features include MP3 playback (CBR/VBR) up to 320kbps, MP3 file search, CD text and ID3 tag support, 2 hot starts with stutter per drive, 2 seamless loops per drive, 1000 point CD memo function, relay playback mode with overlap facility, variable pitch control, ket adjust, end of track alert, automatic BPM counter and a platter hold feature, sometimes referred to jog bend.
A shock proof memory ensures that playback of both CD and MP3 are always uninterrupted by accidental knocks and a clear LCD display delivers essential track and level information. Interfacing with other equipment is made easy with fader start and audio line outputs are unbalanced presented on phono sockets, with the addition of a SPDIF digital output for each drive, also presented on a (coaxial) phono socket.

The Denon brand roots can be traced back as far as 1910, when Frederick Whitney Horn set up a company manufacturing recording equipment, considered primitive by modern standards.
