The Product
The DPA 4062BM is a prepolarized, very low sensitivity, omnidirectional miniature condenser microphone, black in colour, with a 5.4 mm vertical diaphragm specially designed for maximum performance under the often difficult conditions when mounted directly on the body. Utmost attention has been paid to the microphone's resistance to humidity by employing a double vent protection system together with water resistant materials inside the microphone, allowing the microphone to operate reliably even in high-humidity situations. By changing the protection grids, the microphone can be acoustically modified according to the placement of the microphone on the body.
Specifications include an outstanding noise floor of 33 dB(A) reference 20 µPa and an impressive sensitivity of 1 mV/Pa and, if powered correctly, the microphone can handle sound pressure levels up to 154dB SPL before clipping occurs. A wide range of connection adapters are available making it compatible with virtually all professional wireless microphone systems available on the market today. It can also be used wired when used with a suitable powering adaptor such as the DPA MPS6001 phantom adaptor or the MOS6010 battery power supply. Also available in beige.
