The Product

The Crown XLS 602D is the mid sized model in the XLS Series, representing a new era in affordable, quality power amplification. It is constructed in an all steel rugged 2U rack mounting chassis with efficient forced-air cooling designed to prevent excessive heat buildup. Audio inputs are electronically balanced, presented on 3 pole XLR connectors and the outputs are presented on both binding posts and Speakon connectors. The front panel has a precision detented level control and a set of signal LED indicators for each channel, indicating signal, clip and fault condition. Mains power is applied to the amplifier via a standard 3 pole IEC connector.

The XLS 602D delivers a power output of 600 Watts per channel into a 4Ω load, 380 Watts per channel into an 8Ω load and 1200 Watts bridged mono into an 8Ω load. Extensive protection and diagnostic capabilities, including output current limiting, DC protection, a resetable circuit breaker, and thermal protection ensure that this amplifier is fit for purpose in being able to deliver solid performance time after time.

Crown was originally founded in 1947 by a church minister named Clarence C Moore, who started the International Radio and Electronics Corporation, later to become Crown. From the 1960s to the present day Crown has earned a solid reputation for designing and building a comprehensive range of power amplifiers for demanding applications. Ground breaking circuit concepts and durable construction have contributed to making this company a leader in the field. Crown are also well known for manufacturing high quality Pressure Zone Microphones.
