The Beyerdynamic OPUS 66 is a supercardioid dynamic microphone designed specifically for use with drums and percussion. Placement on these types of instrument can be critical to obtaining a good sound and the small size of the OPUS 66 allows for correct placement without obstructing the skin. Beyerdynamic has investigated the sound patterns of those drum parts and created the OPUS 66 microphone to capture the moment with clarity. The supercardioid polar pattern means that the pick-up is tight allowing each drum the ability to express itself and to faithfully reproduce the sound of the most aggressive drummers. It is compact yet very rugged in design and is capable of withstanding sound pressure levels of over 140dB. It comes supplied with an MKV87 special microphone mount and storage bag.
