The Product

The AR-133 from BSS is probably regarded as the most popular and best DI box that money can buy. It can be powered by battery or phantom power and should the phantom source fail then the internal battery will take over immediately, without affecting the performance. Inputs are available on ¼" Jack and XLR and a switchable input pad ensures compatibility with most signal sources. The balanced output is on an XLR and a ground lift switch is provided to help deal with earth loop hum. The curved housing enables users to dress cables neatly under the box minimising cluttered appearances on stage. Suitable for all professional audio applications such as broadcast OB, live TV, studio recording and touring.

The Manufacturer

BSS is an abbreviation for Brooke Siren Systems and was founded by Chas Brooke and Stan Gould, with its earliest roots going back to the 1970s. BSS produced a range of audio processing tools designed and built to an exceptionally high standard, loved by industry professionals. They became particularly well known for their DI box design which became the industry standard in live music and TV. Today BSS is part of Harman International and it continues to manufacture a range of superb products, including designs which date back to the early days of BSS.
