The Product

The Audix OM7 microphone started production in the mid 1990s primarily for concert touring rock bands with exceptionally loud on-stage volumes and has earned the reputation for being the "ultimate gain before feedback" microphone. It has been designed with an uninventionally low output level, 8 to 10 dB lower than typical dynamic mics. When used with a mixing desk with decent headroom the OM7 will handle sound pressure levels in excess of 140dB without distortion. Excellent for lead and backing vocals but also great on sax and brass. The integral steel sprung mesh grill and brass body makes this a very tough contender for the touring environment.
