The Product
The Adastra A120TUD is a four channel mixer amplifier with composite video playback functionality suitable for a wide range of paging, background music and digital signage applications such as in schools, shops, hotels, shopping centers, theatres, sports and health clubs, churches and commercial offices. It is built to high standards and housed in a 2U rack mounting chassis, easily integrating with most other professional audio visual installation hardware.
The mixer section offers four inputs with channel 1 being a balanced microphone input presented on an XLR connector or ¼" jack with switchable phanton power. Channel 2 is an unbalanced line input marked aux, presented on a pair of summing phono sockets. Channel 3 is the integral CD / DVD playback and channel 4 is the FM tuner / USB MP3 media player with the port accessible from the front panel. All four channels have a dedicated front panel rotary control for level / mix and useful master bass and treble has been provided to tailor the eq for any given installation. When playing back a DVD, composite video output is made available on the rear panel on phono sockets, with audio following via the internal mixer.
Other useful features include a voice priority over-ride on input 1, initiated via rear panel fire alarm contact closure, a stereo line level output presented on a pair of phono sockets, an FM antenna connector and a front panel mounted power switch with LED indicators for power, signal and protection status. The power amplifier section is rated at 120W mono and loudspeaker outputs for either 4Ω - 16Ω low impedance or 100V / 70V line are available, presented on a screw terminal barrier strip. Mains power is applied via a standard 3 pole IEC inlet.

The company was taken over by a large electronics manufacturing group in 1999 and the legacy of producing a good range of reliable and solid products, continues to this day.
