The Product

The AKG D58E is a short stubby hypercardioid dynamic talkback microphone optimised for talkback and communications use in control rooms and broadcast talkback stations. It is very small and lightweight and has a noise-cancelling transducer for close use. A 3 pole male XLR connector is fitted in the base for direct connection with surface mounted connections on mixing desks and meterbridges, but may be extended with the use of a conventional gooseneck attachment, available separately.

The Manufacturer

AKG was founded in 1947 by Dr Rudolf Goerike and Ernst Pless and within months their beautifully hand built microphones were being used in radio stations, theatres and jazz clubs. Within two years AKG produced their first pair of headphones, which were quickly followed by other innovative products such as the worlds first high quality condenser microphone. One of the first customers to acquire the famous C12 microphone was the BBC in London. Today millions of discerning professionals rely upon this solid and dependable brand.
