The Product

The AKG C480B is the preamplifier part of a modular microphone system designed specifically for excellent audio quality and maximum flexibility. Its electronic circuitry coupled to a transformerless output stage assures completely linear transfer characteristics across the entire audio bandwidth. It has an internal self noise of close to the theoretical minimum and can offer a dynamic range in excess of 125dB. Gold plated switch and connector contacts guarantee consistent reliable performance. Compatible capsules designed for use with this module are the CK61-ULS, CK62-ULS, CK63-ULS and CK69-ULS.

Requires phantom power to function.

The Manufacturer

AKG was founded in 1947 by Dr Rudolf Goerike and Ernst Pless and within months their beautifully hand built microphones were being used in radio stations, theatres and jazz clubs. Within two years AKG produced their first pair of headphones, which were quickly followed by other innovative products such as the worlds first high quality condenser microphone.
