The Product

The AKG HSD171 professional headset has been designed for broadcast and recording use. It provides excellent comfort, optimum ambient-noise attenuation, and outstanding audio quality, and uses the same proven detachable cable as the Studio Series headphones. So should a cable become defective under the enormous stress of day-to-day broadcast work, it can be replaced quickly and without any tools. The headphones are closed-back dynamic type with a frequency response of 18Hz to 26kHz. The microphone capsule is a hypercardioid dynamic type and is attached to a flexible arm which swivels through a 270° arc. This makes it possible to wear the microphone to the left or right of your mouth depending on your preferences or available space. Easily suitable for commentators, off-camera moderators, camera operators, or sound engineers, this headset from AKG is considered the perfect tool for any application in professional audio.

The HSD171 comes supplied with a 3m detachable cable terminated in a 3 pole male XLR connector for the microphone circuit and a ¼" Jack plug for the headphone circuit.

The Manufacturer

AKG was founded in 1947 by Dr Rudolf Goerike and Ernst Pless and within months their beautifully hand built microphones were being used in radio stations, theatres and jazz clubs. Within two years AKG produced their first pair of headphones, which were quickly followed by other innovative products such as the worlds first high quality condenser microphone.
